Messaging Strategy
In a broad sense, messaging strategy includes everything that your customer sees or hears about your company.
Two aspects are especially important:
- Your messages must be supported and further strengthened by your value proposition.
- Continuity of messaging is needed at all customer touchpoints if you ever want to break through the clutter.
Messaging should be developed from the perspective of your target customer. How do you want them to think and act differently after they hear what you have to say? Messaging should also be validated to ensure that you are actually communicating what you think you are.
Consider This: Messaging strategy feeds into all of your advertising and promotional activities. Clearly understanding your core target will enable you to select appropriate advertising and promotion vehicles that are the most effective and efficient to accomplish your business objectives.
